Cookies and browser storage
Cookies are small pieces of information saved by your browser. PicWhere also uses browser storage to keep parts of the upload and sign-in workflow working. Some storage is needed for the service; optional integrations depend on what is enabled for the site.
Essential functions
- Sign-in and security: session information supports protected account, photo and billing pages.
- Upload continuity: temporary browser storage can preserve a selected photo through sign-in or keep a batch ready to resume. Selecting a photo does not itself start a paid analysis.
- Phone transfer: a short-lived device cookie scopes a phone to the upload or result explicitly opened through a transfer QR. It does not grant a full account session.
- Preferences: browser storage can remember interface and consent choices.
Blocking essential cookies may prevent sign-in, phone transfers or account functions from working.
Optional integrations and consent
Analytics, advertising or support integrations can process technical information when enabled. Their actual use depends on site configuration; the presence of an integration in the software does not mean it is active.
When a consent banner is shown, your choice controls advertising-script loading and the storage permissions sent to Google tags. Google tags may still make limited requests when storage is denied. Other enabled analytics or customer-support integrations can operate separately; the banner is not a switch that disables every third-party feature.
The choice is stored for up to 365 days in a first-party consent cookie. Cookie settings in the footer reopens the banner when consent controls are enabled. Essential service storage remains necessary regardless of that choice.
Private phone-transfer pages exclude the site's optional analytics, advertising and customer-support embeds. Public example-preview pages are ordinary public site pages.
Changing your choices
Your browser lets you clear cookies and local storage. This may sign you out, remove a saved preference or interrupt a pending upload. Browser and provider controls may offer additional tracking choices.
